The artist has donated the complete sum of his £25k award prize money to the trust for venues, which functions to preserve the United Kingdom's grassroots concert spaces.
Fender was awarded the cheque on mid-October as his latest record People Watching was declared the outstanding release of the past year.
He has opted to donate the funds to the Music Venues Trust, in recognition of the vital role grassroots venues fulfilled in his initial steps.
"As an artist wouldn't be doing this success if it hadn't been for all the performances I performed around the region, and elsewhere, when I was starting out," stated the artist. "These venues are iconic, but they are in difficulty."
Beginning in 2023, more than 150 of these venues have ceased operations – roughly one-sixth of the total UK scene.
In the last year, major artists like Pulp, the group Coldplay, Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all aided the MVT in its initiatives to keep the scene afloat, by applying a minor surcharge to their ticket costs, which supports smaller concert halls.
Sam Fender also participated, raising in excess of £100,000 on his live tour to support thirty-eight grassroots venues across the UK.
These funds helped locations that were dealing with potential shutdown due to challenges caused by floods, blazes and bereavements, as well as licensing issues, conflicts and noise complaints.
Some locations were granted financial assistance in improving facilities and gear that directly benefitted musicians and audiences.
"The concept that funds from concerts in big venues helps the smaller venues, where it all starts for musicians like me, is just logical," Sam Fender has said.
He is far from the only musician to donate his honor winnings to good deeds.
In Pulp received the award in the mid-90s for their record Different Class, lead singer Jarvis Cocker declared that the group would give their winnings to the organization War Child.
That year, artist the artist split her bounty across several good causes, such as the children's charity and a Sickle Cell charity.
"And I donated a £1,000 to the center, to their gymnastics program, because I practiced gymnastics when I was younger and they required new equipment," Ms Dynamite told outlets.
Two years ago, they donated their prize money to the local youth club that supported their band, as well as other grassroots music organisations.
Also 1994 winners M People contributed their award to a charity for MS after a close contact was identified with the illness.
"Receiving the award was quite enough," said artist the singer. "The money was the bonus but we didn't need the extra, because we had the honor. So our victory touched another person's life."
In the past week, the MVT announced it had rescued a couple of local spots in that region, by transferring them to public stewardship.
The first in the city and The Croft in Bristol were purchased under the Own Our Venues initiative, which is backed by a national body and supporters who purchase "shares" in the buildings.
