'People are fearful' - why 'juggernaut' Arsenal are the team to beat.

The proof is undeniable why Arsenal are now countless pundits' favorites to claim the Premier League in the current campaign.

Consider their outcomes against West Ham and Crystal Palace in contrast with those equivalent matches last season.

The Gunners have beaten all of them this time around, but surrendered 10 points across those games as they dropped off in the title race last season.

Defensive Dominance

Arsenal's backline resilience is a key reason why they are looking well positioned to finally fulfil their title ambition.

They lead the league for shutouts (6), goals conceded (3), shots faced (72), dangerous chances allowed (19) and anticipated concessions (5.3).

The central defensive pairing of Gabriel and William Saliba is arguably the best in the league, with Arsenal keeping a clean sheet in six of their first nine games.

Dead-Ball Excellence

Their threat from set-pieces is widely recognized, but competing clubs still don't know how to contain the Gunners from these situations.

They have notched 11 times from set-pieces in the league, two more than any other side, with 69% of their goals originating from these situations.

"Arsenal can do a bit of everything now. The whole team has a fear factor. People are just afraid of them and it is excellent to see."

Title Potential

What is especially impressive about Arsenal's commencement to the campaign is they have also played Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United on the road and Manchester City at home - and are still four points clear at the top.

While they keep winning, their historic competitors are struggling. This marks the initial occasion at this point of the season since 1992 that none of Manchester City and United, Liverpool or Chelsea are in the Premier League top four.

The expectations was on manager Mikel Arteta at the start, having allocated around £250m on eight summer signings in search of that coveted first title since 2004.

But the investment has so far yielded results in style, with his side among the highest scorers in the league and having the tightest defense, despite numerous injuries.

  • Clean sheets in each of their last three Premier League games
  • 385 minutes without conceding a goal
  • Only a trio of goals in 12 games across every tournament

Former players and analysts have described Arteta's men as a "unstoppable force, looking challenging to stop" with the whole club now functioning with conviction and purpose.
